Each year the State of Ohio releases a report card to every public school district across the state that captures a snapshot of each district's overall performance indicators. The annual School Report Cards were released today by the Ohio Department of Education. The information on the State Report Card reflects data from last school year (2022-2023).
New this year, schools and districts received overall ratings of 1-5 stars (in half-star increments) and schools/districts were rated on five components, along with other various report-only data.
The five rated components are:
- Achievement
- Progress
- Gap Closing
- Early Literacy
- Graduation
Here is a brief description of each rated category:
Achievement
The Achievement Component measures students academic achievement using each level of performance on Ohio's State Tests.
Progress
The Progress Component measures the academic performance of students compared to expected growth on Ohio's State Tests.
Early Literacy
The Early Literacy Component is a measure of reading improvement and proficiency for students in kindergarten through third grade.
Gap Closing
The Gap Closing component shows how well schools are meeting the performance expectations for our students in English language arts, math, and graduation. It also measures how schools are doing in supporting English learners to increase language proficiency, reducing chronic absenteeism for all students, and identifying gifted students and providing gifted services.
Graduation
The Graduation Component is a measure of the four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate and the five-year adjusted cohort graduation rate.
Below you will see the results for each building in the district, along with an overview of the district rating.
Overall, the results provide a good snapshot for our district to evaluate, shape plans for improvement, and to CELEBRATE.
We thank our staff for ALL they do each day to help grow our students academically, socially, emotionally, and through experiences that will last a lifetime. It is truly appreciated!
