Director's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and the Bryan Elementary School Community:

Welcome to the new school year! Our commitment at Bryan Elementary is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and inspired learners prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century.

As the people you have entrusted with the education of your children, we have developed a strong educational program that addresses the need of the 21st century learner. We promote an educational environment that engages the students in meaningful work so that they develop the critical skills necessary to become independent, responsible, and productive citizens. The teachers at Bryan Elementary have many great activities and learning experiences planned for the students this year. We are excited to utilize our Makerspaces in our building.  Students will be working collaboratively to solve mini design and building challenges. Many of the challenges that the students have been working on include activities from STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Math). All of them incorporate hands-on learning using a variety of materials.

Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we are able to maximize each student's educational and personal development. We encourage a positive home-school relationship based on the mutual goal of providing the best learning experience possible for all of our students. With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at Bryan Elementary. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of PTO, or a special event participant, you are encouraged to be involved! Increasing parent involvement in our school is a high priority for me in the coming year. Educational research clearly demonstrates that when parents are more involved in their child’s education the child’s likelihood for academic success greatly increases.

I feel very fortunate to be the Director of Elementary Education at Bryan Elementary and look forward to serving the students, parents, teachers and Bryan community.

Please join our PTO and become part of the parent leadership within our school. We look forward to working with you!

Together we can make a difference as we strive for student success!

If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at kcox@bryanschools.net.

Yours in Education,

Mrs. Karyn B. Cox

Director of Elementary Education
