2019-20 Junior High Winter Sports

Congratulations 8th Girls Basketball NWOAL Champs

The Bryan 8th girls basketball team won the NWOAL tournament championship 23-20 over the Liberty Center Tigers. The team finishes 18-1 on the season. Way to go Lady Bears!
Leading scorers were Voigt and Wasson with 8 points, Thiel with 5 points, and Rau chipped in 2.

7th Boys Basketball

7th Boys Basketball fell in the Championship game against Patrick Henry.

8th Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade girls basketball team is advancing to the finals of the NWOAL tournament with a 34-13 win over Archbold. Voigt lead the way with 7 points, Wasson 6, Rau 5, Thiel, Taylor and Smith with 4, and Hess and Yoder with 2. The 17-1 Lady Bears will face Liberty Center in the finals at Patrick Henry on Tuesday night at 5:00pm.

7th Boys Basketball

Congratulations to the Bears 7th boys basketball team beating #1 seed Liberty Center on Saturday. They will play at Patrick Henry tonight in the Championship game against Patrick Henry. GO BEARS!!

8th Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball fell to Defiance 50-28. 10 Bryan players scored in the loss. Bryan is now 7-5 on the year.

7th and 8th Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th Grade Lady Bears took down the Defiance Bulldogs 55-16. This improves the team to 13-1 on the season. The team had a season high with seven three pointers. Ella Voigt lead the team with 15 points, Marah Smith had 14, and Kailee Thiel had 11.

The 7th grade Bryan girls lost a tough one to Defiance 27-25.

7th and 8th Girls Victorious

The 8th grade Lady Bears came out on top against a very good Liberty Center team. Ella Rau hit the go ahead bucket with 2.5 seconds left on the clock to secure the 33-32 victory. This improves the Bears to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the NWOAL. Scoring for the Bears were Ella Rau and Marlee Yoder with 9 points and Kailee Thiel and Ella Voigt with 6, Calysta Wasson had 2 and Molly Hess had 1.

The 7th Grade Lady Bears were also victorious against the Tigers beating them 26-17. This improves the team to 7-5 on the season.

Boys Fall to Evergreen

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball fell to Evergreen 41-32 on Tuesday. Sam Herold has 12 points in the loss. Maddox Langenderfer added 8 and Jase Kepler has 7. Bryan is now 7-3 on the year.

Bryan 7th grade fell 31-29. They are now 6-5.

7th and 8th Girls Split

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears played tremendous defense and knocked off league foe Evergreen 21-4. This improves the team to 11-1.

The Bryan 7th grade lost to Evergreen 30-13.

7/8 Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears Basketball improved to 10-1 on the season. They defeated Hicksville 46-10.
All ten players made it into the scoring column. Voigt -15, Thiel and Wasson - 7, Rau -4, Smith -3 , Hess, Taylor, Brown, Yoder, Andrews all 2.

The Bryan 7th grade team was also victorious over Hicksville with a final of 38-9. This improves them to 6-4 on the season.

7/8 Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th boys basketball defeated Hicksville 38-23 on Monday night. Maddox Langenderfer led the way with 13 points. Karter Brown added 10 in the win. Bryan is now 7-2 on the year.

Bryan 7th grade boys basketball fell to Hicksville 50-33. They are now 6-4 on the year.

7/8 Wrestling

7/8 Wrestling competed at the Archbold Invitational.

8th Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears Basketball team beat Napoleon 36-7 improving their record to 9-1. They return to action on Monday as they host the Hicksville Aces.

8th Girls Basketball

The 8th grade Lady Bears Basketball team defeated the Antwerp Archers 44-15. All ten team members scored. The Bears improve your 8-1 this year. Thiel-8, Rau 7, Brown and Hess 6, Voigt, Yoder, and Smith 4, Wasson and Andrews 2, Taylor 1.

8th Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball defeated Napoleon 33-23 on Monday night. Sam Herold led the way with 13 points. Jase Kepler and Maddox Langenderfer both added 8. Bryan is now 5-2 on the year.

7th and 8th Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Basketball Lady Bears came out on top against a very competitive Fairview team. The 33 - 26 win improves the squad to 7 - 1 on the season. It was a great team victory.
Scoring for the Bears: Thiel - 10, Wasson - 6 and Rau 6, Voigt, Smith, and Hess all 3 and Taylor 2.

The Bryan 7th graders fell to the Apaches 23-13.

7th and 8th Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball defeated Liberty Center 35-34 on Saturday. Jase Kepler led the way with 11 points. Sam Herold added 10 and Maddox Langenderfer scored 9. Bryan is now 4-2 on the year.

7th boys Basketball lost to Liberty Center 37-31.

7/8 Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears Basketball team were handed their first loss on the season by the Springfield Blue Devils. The score was 33-20. The team is now 6-1 on the season

Bryan 7th grade lost to Springfield 31-21. The team is 5-2 on the season. The teams return to action at Fairview on Jan. 6th.

8th Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball defeated Delta 41-27 on Tuesday night. Jase Kepler led the way with 12 points. Sam Herold added 11 and Dylan New chipped in with 8 points. Bryan is now 3-1 and returns to action Thursday at home against Patrick Henry.

7/8 Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears Basketball improved to 5-0 this season with a 38-10 win over Delta. Kailee Thiel lead the way with 12 points, Voigt and Wasson had 6 points each and Molly Hess had 6 assists.

The 7th grade was also victorious, beating Delta 28-16. This improves the team to 4-1. Bryan returns to action Thursday at Patrick Henry.

Bryan Junior High Wrestlers placed 6th in their invitational on Saturday finishing with 70.5 points.

7th Boys Basketball played at Fassett Elementary on Saturday bringing home the win 34-18.

Scoring for the Bears was Hutson Wheeler with 10, Landon Bassett with 9 and Dominique Malanga with 4.

The 8th grade girls Bryan basketball team was victorious over the Otsego Knights 55-2. 

This improves the team to 4-0 on the season.  Leading scorers were Ella Voigt with 15, Kailee Thiel 12, Calysta Wasson 8,  Molly Hess 7, and Marlee Yoder with 6. The girls next game is at Delta on Tuesday evening.

Changes to JH Schedule

Thursday, December 12th games for 7/8 BBK at Swanton are moved to Th. January 23rd.

Saturday, December 14th at Fassett Middle School (Oregon Clay) will be a BBK 7th grade ONLY. The game will begin at 11:00.

7/8 Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears were victorious against Paulding. The final score was 51- 12. This improves their record to 3-0. Leading the offense was Ella Voigt with 12, Calysta Wasson with 10, Kailee Thiel with 8, Marlee Yoder had 7 and Ella Rau and Molly Hess each had 5.

Bryan 7th grade girls notch a team victory with a final score of 25-14. This improves the team to 2-1 on the season. Both teams return to action on Saturday as they will host Otsego at 10:00am.

Bryan 8th grade boys basketball defeated Paulding 55-30.

Bryan had 11 players score led by Maddox Langenderfer and Jase Kepler with 9 points each. Luke Mossburg added 8 points and Aidan Shellenberger chipped in with 6. Bryan is now 2-1 on the year.

Bryan 7th Basketball

7th Boys Basketball defeated Wauseon 25-22. Leading the way for the Bears was Landon Bassett with 10.
7th BBK defeated Paulding 27-20. High scorers were Hutson Wheeler with 10 and Carter Dominique with 8.

JH Wrestlers competed in Montpelier on Friday at the Ironhorse Invitational.

Dameon Wolfe was 1st place in his weight class. 2nd place finishers were Kohler Vitek and Alex Carollo.

8th Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th Boys fell to Wauseon 23-38.

7/8 Girls Basketball

The Bryan 8th grade Lady Bears started off their league play with a big win. They defeated Wauseon 50 - 5. This improves them to 2-0 on the season. Leading the way for the Bears was Ella Rau with 12, Calysta Wasson with 11, and Kailee Thiel with 10. They will return to action on Monday when they host Paulding.

The Bryan 7th grade Lady Bears fell to the Wauseon Indians 15 -25. This makes them 1-1 on the season

7/8 Boys Basketball

Bryan 8th grade boys
opened their season with a 40-28 win over Fairview. Noah Huard led the way with 11 points. Maddox Langenderfer added 9 while Jase Kepler added 7. Bryan returns to action Thursday at home against Wauseon.

7th Grade Boys fell to Fairview 32-15.

7th/8th Girls Basketball

The 8th grade Lady Bears opened their season with a win over Edgerton 39 - 6. It was a great team win. Leading the way for the Bears was Ella Voigt with 9, Kailee Thiel with 8, Ella Rau 7, Tabithah Taylor 6, Molly Hess 3, with Wasson, Smith, and Andrews chipping in 2.

The 7th grade Lady Bears also came out victorious with the final score being 15-13.

The teams return to action at Wauseon on Thursday.
