2018 Junior High Track

BOYS

BOYS WIN LEAGUE, GIRLS FINISH 4TH

The Bryan Jr. High track team concluded their season on Saturday at the NWOAL JH Championships.   

The Bryan boys captured the league title with 105 points, edging out Liberty Center (2nd with 91.5) and Archbold (third with 83).  Individual event league champs for the Bears were Josh Taylor in the 1600 and 800, and Korbin Shepherd in the 400. The 4x100 relay of AJ Martinez, Korbin Shepherd, Jay Damron, and Rylan Garza, and the 4x400 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Kellen Rigg, Blake Grube, and Josh Taylor also finished 1st. Other top performers were Rylan Garza finishing 2nd in the 100 and 200, and Kellen Rigg finishing 2nd in the 800.

The Bryan girls team had a strong showing and placed 4th with 66.5 points, trailing Archbold, Liberty Center and Swanton. Kaitlyn Posey led the way for the Lady Bears with a league title in the 100 hurdles and a 3rd in the 200 hurdles. Haylee Wheeler finished 2nd in the long jump and the 200, and Tinamarie Davis placed 3rd in the disc. The 4x100 relay team of Delilah Taylor, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey raced to a 2nd place finish.  

BOYS AND GIRLS WIN TRI

The Bryan Jr. High track team hosted a tri-meet with Edgerton and St. Pat’s on Tuesday.  

The Bryan girls team placed first with 79 points, followed by Edgerton with 43 and St. Pat’s 15.  Event winners for the Lady Bears were Kaitlyn Posey in the 100 hurdles and 200 hurdles, Haylee Wheeler in the long jump and 200, Rachel Spiess in the disc, Tinamarie Davis in the shot, and Delilah Taylor in the high jump. The 4x400 relay of Brooke Taylor, Adaya Strobietto, Lauren Lambert, and Delilah Taylor and the 4x100 relay team of Delilah Taylor, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey also won.   

The Bryan boys also placed first with 105 points, followed by Edgerton in 2nd with 39 and St. Pat’s in 3rd.  Event winners for the Bears were Josh Taylor in the 1600 and 800, Rylan Garza in the 100 and 200, Brady Foth in the shot and disc, Craig Jackson in the 110 hurdles, Kellen Rigg in the long jump, and AJ Martinez in the high jump.  The 4x100 relay of AJ Martinez, Jay Damron, Korbin Shepherd, and Rylan Garza, and the 4x400 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Kellen Rigg, Blake Grube, and Josh Taylor also placed first.

The Jr. High Bears will be competing at Patrick Henry on Thursday

JH RESULTS FROM APRIL 26TH

The Bryan Jr. High track team traveled to Delta to compete in a tri-meet with the Panthers and Evergreen on Thursday.  

The Bryan girls team placed second behind Evergreen, and Delta was third.  Event winners for the Lady Bears were Rachel Spiess in the disc and the 4x100 relay team of Adaya Strobietto, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey.   

The Bryan boys placed first in the tri meet, followed by Evergreen in 2nd and Delta in 3rd.  Rylan Garza led the way with first place finishes in the 100 and 200. Other event winners for the Bears were Joshuah Taylor in the 1600, Kellen Rigg in the 800, and Brady Foth in the shot. The 4x100 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Jay Damron, AJ Martinez, and Rylan Garza, and the 4x400 relay of Kellen Rigg, AJ Martinez, Korbin Shepherd, and Josh Taylor also placed first.

The Jr. High Bears will be competing at the Napoleon Invitational on Saturday.

Girls and Boys Both Win

The Bryan Jr. High track team traveled to Tinora to compete in a tri-meet with the Rams and St. Paul's on Monday.  

The Bryan girls team placed first ahead of Tinora and St. Paul's.  Event winners for the Lady Bears were Kaitlyn Posey in the 100 hurdles, Allie Zimmerman in the 800, Delilah Taylor in the high jump, and Lexi Alspaugh in the disc.  The 4x100 relay team of Allie Zimmerman, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey and the 4x400 relay team of Brooke Taylor, Haylee Wheeler, Delilah Taylor, and Allie Zimmerman also won.   

The Bryan boys also came out on top ahead of Tinora and St. Paul's. Event winners for the Bryan boys were Josh Taylor in the 1600 and 800, Rylan Garza in the 100 and 200, Craig Jackson in the 110 hurdles and 200 hurdles, Brady Foth in the shot and disc, and AJ Martinez in the high jump. The Jr. High Bears hit the road again on Thursday, traveling to Delta to compete against Delta and Evergreen.

Girls and Boys 2nd

Bryan Jr. High track team traveled to Swanton to compete in a tri-meet with Swanton and Liberty Center on Thursday.  

The Bryan girls team placed 2nd overall, just behind Liberty Center.  Team scores were Liberty Center 54, Bryan 47.5, and Swanton 45.5. Event winners for the Lady Bears were Kaitlyn Posey in the 100 hurdles and 200 hurdles and Delilah Taylor in the high jump.  The 4x100 relay team of Tara Morr, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey and the 4x400 relay team of Brooke Taylor, Haylee Wheeler, Delilah Taylor, and Allie Zimmerman also won.

The Bryan boys finished 2nd behind Liberty Center with team scores of LC 64, Bryan 52, and Swanton 38.  Event winners for the Bryan boys were Josh Taylor in the 1600 and 800, Rylan Garza in the 200, and Korbin Shepherd in the 100. The 4x100 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Jay Damron, AJ Martinez, and Rylan Garza, the 4x200 relay of Jay Damron, Korbin Shepherd, Scott Sanders, and Rylan Garza, and the 4x400 relay of Kellen Rigg, Blake Grube, Jay Damron, and Josh Taylor also placed first.

The Jr. High Bears are back in action on Monday at Tinora.

Junior High Boys and Girls League Win

The Bryan Jr. High track team hosted Wauseon on Thursday.  

The Bryan girls were winners scoring 61 points to 53 for Wauseon.  Event winners for the Lady Bears were Haylee Wheeler in the long jump and 200, Lexi Alspaugh in the shot and disc, Delilah Taylor in the high jump, and Allie Zimmerman in the 400.  The 4x100 relay team of Tara Morr, Haylee Wheeler, Brooke Taylor, and Kaitlyn Posey and the 4x400 relay team of Brooke Taylor, Adaya Strobietto, Delilah Taylor, and Allie Zimmerman also won.   

The Bryan boys also came out on top by a score of 69 points to Wauseon’s 45.  Event winners for the Bryan boys were Josh Taylor in the 1600 and 800, Rylan Garza in the 100 and 200, Craig Jackson in the 200 hurdles, Kellen Rigg in the long jump, and Brady Foth won the shot. The 4x100 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Jay Damron, AJ Martinez, and Rylan Garza, the 4x200 relay of AJ Martinez, Brady Foth, Scott Sanders, and Korbin Shepherd, and the 4x400 relay of Kellen Rigg, Blake Grube, Trevor Mason, and Josh Taylor also placed first.

The Jr. High Bears travel to Swanton next Thursday.

Junior High Teams Start With Wins

The Bryan Jr. High track team opened its’ season Thursday night hosting a quad meet with Hicksville, North Central, and Paulding.  

The Bryan girls were victorious with a score of 85 points, followed by Hicksville, Paulding, and North Central. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Kaitlyn Posey winning the 100 hurdles, 100 meter dash, and 200 hurdles, Allie Zimmerman won the 1600 and 800, Haylee Wheeler was first in the long jump, and Tinamarie Davis won the shot put. The 4x400 relay team of Brooke Taylor, Adaya Strobietto, Delilah Taylor, and Allie Zimmerman also won.   

The Bryan boys won with a score of 96 points, followed by Hicksville, North Central, and Paulding. Josh Taylor captured 1st place finishes in the 1600 and 800, Rylan Garza won the 100 meter dash and the 200, and Ara Alyankian won the 200 hurdles. The 4x100 relay of Korbin Shepherd, Jay Damron, AJ Martinez, and Rylan Garza and the 4x400 relay of Kellen Rigg, Blake Grube, AJ Martinez, and Josh Taylor also placed first.

The Jr. High Bears are back in action next Thursday at home against Wauseon.
