It was a great turnout for the Bryan bears today at sectionals.
Three of our five competing teams moved forward to second round play, two of which continued on to district qualifier matches. After a hard fought 2 sets, the undefeated doubles team of Junior Logan King and Senior Colt Arthur suffered their only loss together on the season; losing 5-7 in the third set. Freshman Keegan McCashen took his first set 6-2 but then dropped the next two sets 1-6, 0-6 to be eliminated from play. This marks the end of our 2017 season.

Bears Fall To Bowling Green 2-3
Within a tense couple of hours, Bowling Green got the best of our Bryan Bears today. In our last home match of the season, we fell to the Bobcats 2-3. On two bright notes, freshman Brendan Reiser showed what that he can play smart and elite tennis. Although falling in two sets 4-6 4-6, he fought for every single point. "I felt like Reiser grew up in front of our eyes out there," assistant coach Nathan Keel commented, "he played beyond his years and it creates a bunch of excitement for the next couple of seasons." Also, our first doubles team of Logan King and Colt Arthur finish out their regular season together undefeated. When asked about his final home match, Arthur replied, "It felt great to get this win but we know our work isn't done yet." On Thursday, varsity tennis travels to Defiance College for a chance at making it past the sectional round.
After a long and competitive day of tennis, Bryan finished 3rd in the 2017 NBTL League Tournament on Friday. After every match was completed, there was a 4-way tie for first place that included Ada, Archbold, Bryan, and Wauseon. A first tiebreaker (head to head) resulted in no further action. A second tiebreaker (net games won) rendered Ada our 2017 NBTL League Champion. 2. Wauseon 3. Bryan 4. Archbold 5. Rossford 6. Ayersville.
Keegan McCashen took home the 3rd singles crown after playing two intense 3 set matches. "I can't say enough about this kid," Coach Humbarger said, "he could be missing half of his shots but he'll still have a smile on his face because he loves the game. I think his mindset is why he has been able to overcome his challenges this season, especially today."
All teams, coaches, and athletic directors would like to thank D.C. Tennis and administration for allowing us to use their facilities and accommodating our tournament this season.

In yet again, a close match, Bryan is defeated by Wauseon 2-3 on Tuesday.
In only his second singles match of the season, junior Logan King defeated a tough competitor in Tristan Uribes at first singles, 7-6 (tiebreak: 7-5) 6-2. King's overall record this year is improved to 7-1.
Bryan took on Archbold today and fell 1-4 for the second time in as many meetings.
The lone win came from our first doubles team of junior Logan King and senior Colt Arthur. With their win, they remain undefeated this season. Bryan will travel to Rossford on Saturday.
These guys played their hearts out today but we lost to Ottawa Hills 1-4.
We had a couple close matches and couple close points that just didn't fall our way. Colt Arthur and Logan King bought into everything we talked about the past couple of days and their results show that they're focused and willing to put in the work to see the results. We host Archbold Thursday.
Bryan picks up another win, extending the streak to 7 in a row after a 0-2 start to the season.
Junior Ethan Deel picks up his first varsity win at 2nd singles today. Deel is at the courts even when he doesn't have to be, he has a great work ethic, and he's always willing to step up when we need him. He's the type of player we're always looking for.

After a rain out on Thursday, the boys of Bryan tennis pulled out a close win against Springfield on Friday by a score of 3-2. When speaking of the win, Assistant Coach Keel praised the team, "Our guys keep finding another level right when we need it."
Bears Over Wauseon
With identical records, Bryan and Wauseon showed how evenly matched they truly were with the Bears pulling out the close victory, winning by a score of 3-2. Both doubles teams won sets after being down 2-5 and the team used that momentum to help power us to the close win. Bryan travels to Van Wert on Thursday.

Notable JV matches: Senior Atland Sayarath remains the only undefeated player on the 18 man roster, extending his career record to 4-0, winning his singles match by a score of 8-3.

As a first year player, senior Daniel Borland has taken it upon himself to go all in for his only tennis season. Borland got his first career win playing the closest match possible, literally. Ties in the first and second set had to be settled by tiebreakers, with both players taking one a piece. With the sun going down in a matter of minutes, both coaches chose to have the players decide the third set by a super tiebreak. Daniel hung tough, continued to grind, and won the tiebreak 10-8. If there is a cool way to win you first match, that's it!

Tennis Wins Over Ayersville
After notching their first win the day before, Bryan tennis picks up another win against Ayersville on Tuesday. All players were able to finish their matches without losing a single game. Kollin Klingler took full advantage of his singles debut this year with his victory at second singles. Assistant coach Nathan Keel praised the junior saying, "Kollin is beginning to be one of our more consistent players. He played a smart mental match tonight and didn't force anything." Klingler added, "Moving from doubles to singles was a challenge but the hard work I've put in this year has really started to pay off." Bryan will host Rossford on Thursday.

The Bryan boys tennis team fought hard in their first match of the season but fell to Napoleon 1-3. Juniors Isaac Bowers and Kollin Klinger picked up the lone win 6-4 6-3 in their first match as doubles partners. They were tested in both sets but hung in there and played their way to a solid W.
