2018-19 Softball

Lady Bears lost to AW 11-3 

Going into the 6th inning the game was 4-3 and very much an "anyones" contest.

Unfortunately the lady bears had 6 passed balls, 4 errors, and 6 BB which led to AW’s 8 unearned runs in the contest.

Alex Vreeland took the loss in 6.1 innings; striking out 6, walking 6, and giving up 10 hits , 7 in the last 2 innings.

Leading hitters for the Bears were Jaelyn Hall with a 2-2 appearance, a single and double, while Alex Vreeland had a double.

Lady Bears are now 8-7.

JV Softball

Bryan Lady Bears JV softball team won their 5th game in a row running their record to 8-6 by run ruling Delta 17-5 in 5 innings on a rainy evening.

Alex Vreeland took the win from the mound throwing 5 innings giving up 1 hit, striking out 8, and walking 5 with 5 unearned runs on the Lady Bears 5 errors.

The Lady Bears continue their hitting attack by batting .519 as a team for the game and .431 as a team for the year after 14 games.

Makenzie Adams went 3-4 with 2 singles and a triple with 6 RBI’s, Maddie Wilson and Bre Reasor both went 2-2, Alex Vreeland 2-3 with a double, Adrienne Struble, Melissa Gonzales,Alisyn Shaffer,Jaelyn Hall, and Olivia Moore all collected one hit each for the Lady Bears.

Next game is this Saturday with Anthony Wayne.

JV Softball

The Bryan Lady Bears JV softball team ran its record to 7-6 with an 18-13 victory Tuesday evening at Wayne Trace.

Bre Long took the win from the rubber; those hitting were: Bre Long and Kenzie Adams had 2 hits, while Olivia Moore, Lydia Temple, and Marissa Gonzales all chipped in with one hit each.

Next game will be this Thursday at Delta.

Varsity Split With Liberty Center

Varsity Softball beat Liberty Center 4-3 in their league game.

Bryan JV softball ran their record to 6-6 with an 8-6 win at Liberty Center on 4/22.

Alex Vreeland took the win giving up 6 runs, 1 earned, on 7 infield errors, Alex struck out 9 and walked 2 , giving up 10 hits in 7 innings.

The lady bears were down 4-1 before their bats awoke for 4 runs in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th.

Leading the lady Bears hitting attack were Bryana Langendefer 3-4 a single, double, and triple, Alisyn Shaffer and Bre Reasor both collected 2 hits each and Maddie Wilson, Alex Vreeland, and Olivia Moore each collected one hit.
The Lady bears team hitting average after 12 games now stands at .420.

Bears play at Wayne Trace tomorrow.

JV Team Wins

The Bryan Lady Bears JV team ran their record to 5-6 with a demolition of Paulding; 31-3 in 5 innings.
Alex Vreeland took the win giving up 2 earned runs with 4 k’s and 6 BB in 5 innings.

The Lady Bears continue to pound the ball as they had 31 hits in 5 innings... Maddie Wilson went 4-4, Alex Vreeland 3-3, Jaelyn Hall 4-5 with 2 doubles, Alisyn Shaffer went 4-4, , Adrienne Struble 3-3, Brook Taylor 4-4, while Lydia Temple, Olivia Moore and Jasmine Richter went 2-2, Lydia had a single and 3 RBI triple.

The Lady bears are playing much better defense as Adrienne Struble led the team with 5 put outs from SS, while Jasmine Richter made an acrobatic catch in left in foul territory, the team had 2 errors total.

Lady Bears next game is this Saturday at Lima Shawnee.

JV Softball Splits With Defiance

into the 5th inning of their first game of their doubleheader before they ran into some difficulties as the score ended up 25-10.
In the second game, with Defiance having the exact same line up, the lady bears won 6-4, taking their season record to 4-6.

In the first game Alex Vreeland took the loss, Alex went 3-4 at the plate, while Jaelyn Hall and Alisyn Shaffer each had 2 hits.

The second game Bre Long gained the win and went 2-3 at the plate along with Brooke Taylor’s 2-3 performance, the Bears defense was excellent.

Varsity Loses To Edon

Varsity Softball played Friday and fell to Edon 0-1.

Varsity Softball lost to Archbold 7-9.
Pitching for the Bears was Addie Arnold and Sheridan Miller.
Hitting for the Bears was Delilah Taylor 2-4, 3 RBI's, Meggie Voigt 2-2, Kelly Miller 2-3.
Bryan's next game is Tuesday, April 9 with Liberty Center at 7:00 pm.

JV Falls to Archbold

The Bryan Lady bears were in a very competitive battle with Archbold JV’s thru 6 innings 4-1 and the Lady Bears had left runners on 2nd and third 3 times.
However in the top of the 7th the lady bears struggled giving up 9 runs( all unearned) on 4 errors and 3 pass balls.
Losing 13-1.

Alex Vreeland pitched all 7 innings for the loss ;and leading hitters were Bre Reasor and Jaelyn Hall both going 2-3 while Brooke Taylor and Alex Vreeland both added another hit each.
As a team the Bears only struck out 5 times, all the balls hit were right at the Archbold defenders.

Bears are now 3-5 on the year.

Next game at PH Thursday.

JV Tops North Baltimore 24-11

Lady Bear JV softball whooped on North Baltimore Saturday run ruling them in 6 innings 24-11 running their w/l  record to 3-4 on the year.
Lady Bears had one bad inning giving up 8 runs , none earned, but the Lady Bears hitting attack was relentless scoring 24 runs on 16 hits.

Delilah Taylor earned the win on the rubber throwing all 6 innings with 5K's and 4BB and 0 earned runs.
The lady bears hitting attack was led by Bre Long and Jaelyn Hall with 3 hits each, while Delilah Taylor, Bre Reasor, and Alisyn Shaffer all chipped in with 2 hits each.

Next game is with Archbold 4/8.

JV Lose to Edgerton

The Lady Bears played an Edgerton team that was varsity dominated and though loosing in 6 innings 12-1 actually hung tough after giving up 10 runs to Edgerton in the first inning.
Delilah Taylor pitched well for the Bears the last 5 innings holding Edgerton to 2 runs.
Leading hitters for the Lady Bears were Olivia Moore and Bryana Langenderfer both going 2-2.

Next game will be at North Baltimore this Saturday.

Varsity Fall to Napoleon

Varsity Softball hosted Napoleon and feel 3-9.
Pitching for the Bears was Sheridan Miller and Delilah Taylor.

Hilltop beat JV

Hilltop beat the Lady bears JV softball team last night in a slugfest 18-11 in 7 innings.
Lady Bears had 2 bad innings giving up 10 runs on 4 errors in the second and third inning.

Bre Long and Alex Vreeland shared the pitching duties in the loss with the heavy hitters being Alex Verland with a single, double, and triple and 3 RBI’s.Olivia Moore went 2-2 and made 2 outstanding outfield defensive plays, Jaelyn Hall went 2-3 a single and a double, Maddie Wilson and Bre Long went 2-4 to lead the lady bear attack.
 Lady bears are now 2-3 and play Edgerton this wednesday and North Baltimore this Saturday.

JV Run Rules Paulding

JV softball run ruled Paulding in Bryan last night 14-3 in 5 innings; behind the pitching of Bre Long; and a 19 hit attack in 4 innings, Maddie Wilson was 3-4 while Jaelyn Hall, Alex Vreeland, Alisyn Shaffer, and Olivia Moore all went 3-3.

Varsity Defeated by Edgerton

Varsity Softball traveled to Edgerton and fell 2-4. 

Pitching for the Bears was Addie Arnold and Sheridan Miller.

Bryan hosted Fairview in Varsity Softball. The Bears fell to the Apaches 8-1.
Pitching for the Bears was Sheridan Miller.
Leading the way at the plate was Meggie Voigt going 2-2 with a Triple and a Double.

Bryan Varsity falls to Maumee

Bryan Varsity Softball traveled to Maumee on Saturday to start their season. They fell 12-6.
Pitching for the Bears was Sheridan Miller and Addie Arnold.
Leading hitters for the Bears was Addie Arnold 3-3 with a Double and Ali Dubois with a Home Run. Bryan will host Fairview on Monday at 5:00.
