The bowls struggled a little at Districts but had a great year. 1st place NWOAL regular season, 1st NWOAL tournament, 1st at Sectionals. 14-1 record this season Congratulations Bears!
Great Showing at Sectionals for the Boys and Girls Bowlers. Tycen Ogden led the boys to a first place finish with a 693 series. He also recieved highest bowler of the sectional. The girls placed 2nd in the tournament missing first by 2 pins.

The girls won the league tournament with a pin count of 3639. Dani Hickey broke her school record with a 696 series.

The Boys came away league champs with a total score of 3966.
Leading the way in the top four places was Tycen Ogden with a 662, Noah Bany with 637, Kyle Shaffer with 607 and Cory Hemenway with a 604.

BOYS TRAVEL TO TAKE ON SWANTON
We finished our season against Swanton in Swanton. Boys lost, Girls won. Both teams are 14-1 on the season. Im very proud of both teams for the season that we had. Our goal is to continue to work hard to improve and get better going into our league championships on Feb 10.
GIRLS TAKE 2ND AT THE PANTHER CHALLENGE
Bears travled to Columbus at Wayne Webbs Columbus Bowl, for the Panther Challenge. This was a Baker Marathon. 16 baker games, top 8 teams make the cut and play a bracket style format best 2 out of 3. Boys finished 7th.
The girls took 2nd place. This was a phenominal effort by both team.
GIRLS AND BOYS BOTH OVER LC
We took on Liberty Center today in Napoleon. The boys are still undeafeated as they beat LC. Leading the way for the boys was Kyle Shaffer with a 279 and 247 (526 series). Girls were lead by Emma Meade with a 376 series.
BEARS SPLIT WITH BULLDOGS
Bryan played Defiance at their house. The boys took home another victory making them 13-0. We only won by 13. It was a fun highly contested match. Our guys pulled together and we strung a few strikes to finish with a 196 to get the win. I'm very proud of the boys to find a way to win this one. Lead bowlers for Bryan were Noah Bany with a 253 and 203, Tycen Ogden with a 226 and Cory Hemenway with a 225, Kyle Shaffer had a 221.
The girls took there first lost of the season. This was a very tough loss. Now 12-1 on the season. Again this was a highly contested match all the way through. Going from being down by 7 after the first to going up by 7 pins after the 2nd game. We lost by a total of 36 pins. Both teams kept fighting. Leading the Bears was Emma Meade with a 232.
SENIOR NIGHT FOR BOWLERS
We played Tinora at home on Senior night. It was a fun night for the seniors. This class of seniors have done a lot and have been part of many records over the years. Both Teams are 12-0. Boys bowled well. Leading the way for the boys were Kyle Shaffer with a 228 and Cory Hemenway with 225. Tinora only had 3 boys due to illnesses. GIrls bowled very well today. Leading the way for the girls were Ema Meade with a 234 and Dani Hickey bowling a 221 and 226. We have a long week with a exhibition match tomorrow in Defiance, League play on Friday against Liberty Center at Napoleon, big tourney in Columbus on Sat. and at Swanton on Monday to finish regular season play.
BEARS BRING HOME WINS
We bowled against Patrick Henry today. Both teams boys and girls were victorious again. Making us 11-0. This was the closet match for the boys this year so far. Girls bowled very well again today. Girls were led by Emma Meade and the boys led by Noah Bany.
BOWLING MOVE TO 10-0
Bryan bowling took on Wauseon today. Both boys and girls won. The boys did a really good job today. All five bowlers today were consistent. This was a good overall team match.
This match for the girls was the biggest one of the season. Wauseon was sitting with only 1 loss, and that was to us at their home earlier this season. We told our girls all week long that Wauseon was going to try to come in here and take this match. They also beat us last year in our house. All week both boys and girls worked hard in practice. Before the match we told the girls that we need to take this match one game at a time, and to not give up and keep fighting no matter what happens. The girls did just that. We won this watch. This is a huge booster for the girls going into the near future.
Leading bowlers were Kyle Shaffer with a 483 series and Emma Meade with a 439.
BOWLING OVER EVERGREEN
Bryan took on Evergreen in Bryan. Both boys and girls won moving both teams to 9-0. Girls were led by Dani Hickey 223, 203 (429) and Emma Meade at 190, 183, (373). Girls bowled well today. We are now looking ahead to Friday against Wauseon. Wauseon beat the girls in our house last year. We beat them earlier this season at there home so we need to be ready.
Boys were led by Noah Bany 247, 227,(474) followed by Cory Hemenway 234, 227 (461) and Kyle Shaffer 235, 200 (435)
The boys bowled well today. We take on Wauseon at home on Friday.
BOWLING BEAT DELTA
Bryan took on Delta to start off the second part of our season, both boys and girls won. Both teams go to 8-0. The bowlers take on Evergreen Monday at home.
Leading the Bears for Bryan was boys - Noah Bany with a 192. Girls leaders were Dani Hickey with a 247, Jade Easley with a 224 and Emma Meade with a 218.
Boys final was Bryan 2172 - Delta 1844.
Girls final Bryan 2230 - Delta 1632.
BOYS AND GIRLS AT 7-0
Both Boys and Girls won today at home vs Swanton. The boys were led by Cory Hemenway, Tycen Ogden and Noah Bany. The girls were led by Dani Hickey, Emma Meade and Madison Foth.
Both team are now 7-0 on the season. We are at our half way point. Im very excited to be sitting at 7-0 on both sides. The kids have been working hard and they are really pushing themselves. We our off for a few weeks for Xmas Break but will be back in action for the second part of our season on Jan 5 at Delta.
BOYS AND GIRLS WIN, BOYS HAVE A RECORD SETTING MATCH.
Today Bryan took on Liberty Center. The boys shot a 2226. This is a record for match play for the boys. Our first game was phenomenal shooting a 1134. Cory Hemenway led Bryan on the day with a 247, 268(515). Tycen Ogden 216, 245 (461). Noah Bany 232, 211 (443). Austin Brandeberry 235,192(427). Kyle Shaffer 204,179 (380). I was very excited with these scores. The boys were fired up.
The girls also won. Dani Hickey led with a 415, followed by Madison Foth 397 and Emma Meade 377. The girls put a good day of bakers together at 180, 174, 214.
Im very happy and proud of all the bowlers. We had a very good week in practice and it showed today. Monday we will be back home against Swanton.
BOWLERS GO 5-0
The Boys won today by a decent margin. We were led by Austin Brandeberry with a 428 followed by Noah Bany 409 and Cory Hemenway at 373. The boys did a good job. Im very excited for them and we are now 5-0.
The girls Won today but not with out fighting. This was a very close match. Im proud of the girls for fighting and pulling out this match to move to 5-0. The girls were led by Kendra Klingler 368, Emma Meade 362 and Madison Foth 342.
We are off to a great start this year both boys and girls. Coach Meade and myself cannot be more pleased. We need to just keep building on this momentum. We will get right back to work this week in practice doing some fine tuning on some bowlers and get ready for Liberty Center in Bryan on Friday. Liberty Center will bring a challenge so we need to be ready.
BEARS TAKE BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS FROM PATRICK HENRY
Bryan boys dominated today. It was great to be back home after a 2 away matches and a tournament. Tycen Ogden led today with a phenominal 1st game of 279. He had the first 9 X's and left one standing in the tenth. He covered his spare and through another X. He followed that game up with a 226 for a 504 series. Kyle Shaffer had a god second game at 257, series 455. Cory Hemenway bowled a 236 and a series of 435,Noah Bany followed with a 241 second game and a series of 421. and Austin Brandeberry scored a 342 series. Very excited about how we bowled.
Bryan Girls took victory over PH. The girls started down after the first game but was able to make a come back after game 2 and never looked back. after taking a small lead after 2 games the girls through together some great baker scores of 200 154 and 171. Im very proud of the girls to be able to keep composure and to make a comeback like they did. The scores were led by Emma Meade who had a 223 her 2nd game and a 363 series. followed by Madison Foth was pretty consistent with a 183 and 173 for a 356 and followed by gabi bany with a 327series.
We will be traveling to Tinora on Monday.
BEARS SWEEP WAUSEON
The boys bowled well today against Wauseon 2507-2238. Tycen Ogden led with a 437 series, Kyle Shaffer had a 431, Noah Bany 419, and we had first year bowler Sr Tyler Hartsock step it up today shooting a 377. I was very proud of the way this match went. I was also able to get some of the other boys some lane time.
The girls got the win 2292-2086. Today was lead by senior Danika Hickey with game of 268 and 233 for a 501 series. Sr Kendra Klingler also bowled well with a 365 series. After a lot of road matches starting on Friday, followed by Saturdays tourney and then today at Wauseon, we are ready to get back in our house tomorrow to start preparing for Fridays home match against Patrick Henry.
BEARS TRAVEL TO NORTON FOR FIRST INVITATIONAL
We traveled to Norton on Saturday for the Panther Challenge. The girls bowled well as the took 2nd place out of a field of 10. The field was led by sophomore Emma Meade with a 567, followed by Danika Hickey with a 555. Emma Meade made the all Tournament Team. We continue our season on Monday at Wauseon.
The boys team placed 6th out of 11. Junior Noah Bany led the boys with 621 followed by Tycen Ogden at 579. With Wauseon next were ready to get back into conference action.
BRYAN TRAVELS TO EVERGREEN AND BRINGS HOME THE WINS.
Today we traveled to play against Evergreen. Boys were led by Tycen Ogden Boys win 2217-1617. We travel Sat. to Norton for a big tournament, The Panther challenge. We then return to conference play on Monday when we travel to play Wauseon.
The girls team came out stronger in match 2. The team was lead by Sophomore Emma Meade with a 422 series(213, 209). The girls win 2245-1643.
BRYAN TAKES BOYS AND GIRLS FROM DELTA
For our first match of the year we matched up against Delta. The girls started out very well. Leading the first game was Gabi Bany with a 213 followed by Emma Meade (196), and Danika Hickey (191). The girls shot a 928 series which is pretty good. The second set of games, the girls struggled picking up spares. Danika continued to bowl well with a 182. They only had a 679 series the second game. With a total of 1607 going into bakers, the lady bears put together games of 164, 212, and 142 for 518 and a grand total of 2125 beating Delta 2125-1891. The girls will be working hard in practice this week on spares before our Friday match up at Evergreen and our Tournament Saturday in Norton.
The Bryan Bears Boys team started out with a Home victory for our first match. "I challenged the boys to come out very strong today." In game one I had three great scores, Kyle Shaffer led the way with a 256, Noah Bany (226) and Cory Hemenway(214). The boys shot a very nice 1024 total. The second game I told the boys to not let up that I want to see what we can do. I got 4 boys over 200 with Noah Bany(231), Cory Hemenway(224), Kyle Shaffer (205 ) and Tycen Ogden 201. A total of 971 the second game. During our baker games I used my 5 starters in game 1 and they put up a score of 198. I was able to get some younger guys some playing time then in the final 2 bakers of 112 and 152, for a total of 462 and a grand total of 2457 beating Delta 2457 to 1816. Total of 641 pins.
