Presidential award program for mathematics and science teaching is accepting applications for K-6 teachers
The National Science Foundation now is accepting nominations and applications for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) program. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government specifically for the teaching of K-12 mathematics and science (including computer science).
Principals, teachers, parents, students or members of the community all can nominate exceptional mathematics or science teachers who are teaching grades K-6 in the 2017-2018 school year. Teachers also may apply directly at paemst.org.
The nomination deadline is April 1, 2018, and the application deadline is May 1, 2018, for grades K-6 teachers. Grades 7-12 teacher will be eligible for nomination or to apply directly in a future grant cycle.
