Today is Friday, September 15. There is plenty of sports scores to get you caught up from last night. Lets start with the junior high action.

The junior high volleyball teams split with Liberty Center last night. The 7th grade lost to LC 16-25 and 17-25. Leading the team in serving was Elizabthe Thiel 7 for 7, with 3 aces. The 8th grade team defeated Liberty Center 25-9 and 28-26. Addy Arnold was 12 for 13 serving and Amaiah Valderas was 10 of 12 while Tara More and Makenna Fry each had two digs. The junior high squads are back in action on Monday at home with Hilltop.

On the gridiron, the 8th grade football team defeated Swanson by a score of 30 to 6. Moss, Wolff, and Shepherd each scored touchdowns for the Bears while AJ Martinez recorded and interception for that stingy Golden Bear defense. The boys are 1 and 1 on the year and play at Wauseon next week.

Now lets switch gears to high school athletics and start with the soccer teams. The girls soccer team traveled to Delta and defeated the Panthers 2 to 0. Goals came from Gracie Voigt and Jess Mueller while Allye Minor had an assist. Bryan hosts the Putnam County powerhouse of Miller City on Saturday at 2pm.

The boys varsity soccer team met a different fate. They dropped their game to Continental by a score of 0 to 2. Reese Jackson had 10 saves at goal. The boy’s record is now 3-4-1 on the year. In JV action, the boys lost 0 to 1. Bryan will play at home on Saturday against Bowling Green with the JV starting at 10am and the varsity at noon.

The Bryan golf team continues their tear as they defeated Wauseon yesterday. Peyton Lamberson was the medalist with a 38.

The girls tennis team also defeated Wauseon on Thursday night by a score of 5-0. Olivia DeLeon, Jennessa Johnson and Taylor Peters all got wins in singles action with the duo of Chloe McCashen and Sloane Brown winning in first dubs and Allie Boyer and Katie Farrell winning in second dubs. The duo of Kate Grothaus and Kayla Von Seggern were victorious in JV action. The Lady Bears are now 14-3 on the season as they travel to BG on Monday.
